You must decide how much you want from the game up front and from the beginning. Such as $100,000 or $1,000,000 or $3,000,000 net. Once you decide that then decide exactly how you’re going to get that much in net amount. The first thing is to grasp that racing’s a statistical game and that it’s made of two main divisions: handicapping and profitcapping. Each one is 50% of the game and you must become very good at both. Handicapping is about selecting correct specific horses for the order of finish positions and profitcapping is about predicting the amount of profit to be made over months and years from the in-the-money positions such win, place, show, fourth and fifth.
