Horse Racing: How To Grasp Profitcapping And Return On Investment

Mon ,29/09/2014

Horse racing’s made of two parts: the racing part (handicapping) and the money part (profitcapping). Without money racing’s simply an equine contest. The money making side is about making a profit or having a return on investment. Studying both parts gives a player an advantage because most players think mainly about handicapping or getting the winning horse. A player can’t profit without winning but you can win without profiting. The game is about making money or profiting. Just as much work has to be put into studying the money profit side as the racing side. Return on investment is what its’ all about and not just picking horses.

How and When to Use Sire Statistics to Find Good Bets on Horses

Thu ,18/09/2014

Sire ratings are very important when you’re handicapping the horse races because they’ll give you an idea of how a horse will handle a new situation. For instance, a good grass sire throws foals that become good grass runners. If you see a young horse trying the turf for the first time and it has an A rated turf sire you know that it will probably run as good a race as can be expected. But how good is that? Do you also have to take into consideration other factors? Certainly.

Horse Racing Angles and Advice To Uncover Good Long Shot Wagers

Thu ,18/09/2014

The best way to make money at the horse races may vary from person to person. You may prefer to grind it out because you don’t like wagering on long shots and suffering through the ups and downs that longshot players experience. On the other hand, you may love long shots and the adrenaline rush that comes from putting a bet on a horse that appears to have no chance. If you’re one of those people who can stand to place a bet and then watch your horse trail the field, knowing that one of your longshots will win at long odds, then you might have what it takes to be a longshot player.

Two Exacta Betting Angles For Horse Racing Handicapping

Wed ,17/09/2014

The exacta is one of the most popular bets at the horse races for a very good reason. You only have to pick two horses and if you box them they can come in either way. Whichever horse wins, as long as your other horse is second, you win the exacta. The problem, of course, is to zero in on two horses that have a very good chance of being the exacta. The favorite in the race, the one with the most money bet on it and consequently the lowest odds, is either first or second about half the time. It’s actually more likely to win, especially if the odds are very low.

Horse Racing Handicapping and Betting With Several Handicapping Factors

Wed ,17/09/2014

While handicapping horse races in great depth and having a lot of time to go over the past performances and videos is a good way to make a profit at the races, not all of us have that much time to enjoy the sport of horse racing. Therefore some faster handicapping systems and methods of evaluating the horses are necessary if we’re to have any chance at all of winning. How do we use just a few things like class, speed, or jockey win percentage to form an opinion of the runners?

Best Horse Racing Bets to Increase Your Chance Of Making a Profit

Tue ,16/09/2014

It’s fun to pick a winning horse every once in a while. The serious horseplayers understand that the best bets are the ones that make a profit in the long run. In order to find those bets the players must calculate probability and compare it to the odds on the board which are set by the betting public. The professional horse player compares the odds to his estimate of the horse’s ability and form and will find cases where the public has under estimated a horse. It doesn’t happen in every race, but it does happen often enough to be profitable.

How to Handicap a Horse Race and Estimate the Favorite’s Win Probability to Find a Good Bet

Tue ,16/09/2014

Every handicapper should be able to calculate the chances of the favorite winning the race. That one skill, above all others, will help the horse player to make a profit and find a bet. The reason is money. The favorite, or “chalk,” as they’re sometimes called, has more money than any other horse in the race. If you want to make money you have to follow the money and when those who are throwing around the largest amounts make a mistake, that’s when you pounce, whether you use the win pool or exotics.

Horse Racing Angles and Systems To Find Good Bets That Make a Profit

Mon ,15/09/2014

The problem many handicappers and horse players have is that though they can pick winners those winners don’t make a profit. Even if you manage to have the winner in a third of the races you play, you may still lose money if those horses go off at short odds, below 2-1. Obviously, shopping for a good bet is the answer, but when you bet before the race the odds often change after the gate opens and the race begins. It’s not just a gamble that your horse will win, but it’s also a gamble that you’ll get the odds you thought you’d get when you placed your wager.

Trainer Moves That Indicate A Horse Is Going To Win

Mon ,15/09/2014

The question is, how do you know when the horse is ready to win? When a horse is at its peak a good trainer will know that his horse is ready to win. That’s when the jockey will get the green light to go ahead and put the horse in the right spot to win by either going to the front or settling in behind the pacemaker and rating before pulling the trigger in the stretch and winning. Obviously, the best laid plans don’t always come to fruition, but the good trainers, the ones with a high average, do often manage to get to the winner’s circle when the horse is fit and ready.
