While learning how to handicap and evaluate the horses is important for success at the races, knowing a good bet when you see one is the real key and here’s why… There are many races all over the world every day, but many of them offer few if any real opportunities for making money for the handicapper. I know what you’re thinking, there has to be a good bet in each race. There’s usually only one winner, except in the case of a dead heat. A Good Horse Handicapping Method Based on Impact Values

One of the problems that people encounter when they handicap a horse race is figuring out which factors to use and how important each one of those factors is. For instance, you may determine each horse’s average speed and class, but which one is more important? The same may be said of running styles and post positions. Some providers of horse racing programs supply impact values to their customers. Using their vast databases the data companies can look at thousands of races and measure the impact, or effect, that each factor contributed to the final result.
